Chiropractic Care

What is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic is a natural form of healthcare, in which the practitioner identifies and removes subluxations— the interference within the nervous system that inhibits the body’s natural capacity to heal and repair. Chiropractic is an important integrative therapy used at Progressive Medical Center because there is a particularly intimate relationship between the digestive tract and the nervous system. In fact, more nerve material is dedicated to the gut than anywhere else in the body.

Chiropractic aims not at treating specific diseases, but rather at ensuring that the patient’s capacity for healing is “turned on” and working at 100%. The Chiropractic Team at Progressive Medical Center has helped patients better manage their conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Allergies
  • Alzheimer’s Disease

How are treatments performed?

Progressive Medical Centers Chiropractors utilize Neuromechanical Impulse Treatment which employs a root-cause approach to reversing acute and chronic pain in soft tissue, ligaments, joints and throughout the spine.

Chiropractic care at Progressive Medical Center combines elements of neurology and biomechanics to address neuromusculoskeletal conditions. It involves the use of mechanical impulses (or adjustments) to affect the nervous system and promote proper joint and spinal function to promote healing. This approach targets nociception stimuli across complex nerve pathways. Rather than blocking or dulling nerve response, chiropractic adjustment restores systemic mechanical motion to optimize neurological response within the nervous system.

The doctors at Progressive Medical Center look to diagnose the root cause of pain through a combination of techniques: All patients undergo a consultation, comprehensive physical and neurological examination, as well as, a functional movement screen.  Radiographs of the patient’s spine will be taken and reviewed and measured for any structural abnormalities.

Based on the information gathered through these assessments, our Doctor of Chiropractic will formulate a diagnosis and determine the underlying causes of pain. They then develop an appropriate treatment plan. In addition to chiropractic adjustments, patients can take advantage of adjunctive therapies designed to further enhance the rate of repair, restoration, and detoxification.

Such therapies include:
